Last Day of Work...

Today is my last day of work before maternity leave. I am so excited to have the next three days off before baby comes! I feel like I have so much to do, but all I want to do is sit and do nothing. Too bad that isn't really an option. Although, I have been doing really well at it so far, I haven't even packed a hospital bag yet!

Yesterday was Dear Husband's birthday. He was so indecisive about what he wanted to do, he finally ended up deciding on eating some barbeque for dinner, and we had some fro yo for dessert. We got to hang out and talk just the two of us, it was nice. I will miss that, but am looking forward to the new changes that will come.

Funny story, DH (Dear Husband) was rubbing my feet for me last night and I noticed a cut on the underside of my right pinkie toe. So now, when I walk not only do I waddle, but there is a slight limp invovled. I am sure I look rather hilarious when moving, especially wearing the stripes I am wearing today. I am queen of the waddlers that's for sure!

I sent off some paperwork this morning for refinancing our house, hopefully we got most of that taken care of BB. (before baby). I am excited we are doing it, we are knocking a few years off of our loan, and for some reason that makes me super excited.

Well, that's really all I have for now. I must be productive on this last day!

Blue toenails, ready for baby boy!

She was super excited about the box that was my 'push present' that I got a few weeks early...love it!

Yet she doesn't know how much her world is going to be rocked...

39 weeks

Went to the doctor again today, for what was supposed to be my last appointment. The doctor checked me and I am no further progressed than I was last week, so we scheduled an appointment for Monday to see if anything has changed. If not, he wants me to go in Monday night to get something started to thin my cervix. Kind of leary of this, not really sure why. I am sure it would be okay, but still. I am gonna probably have to send restless husband home to sleep and maybe work a half day if it is going to take that long.

During the appointment, the doctor made a comment about how much the baby moves around. I agreed and mentioned that he takes after his restless Dad. :) Can't wait for him to hurry up and get here! Now I will leave you with my 39 week pictures...

Tiffany's Shower

On July 24th, my phabulous phriend threw me my final baby shower. It was SO fun! It was a few close friends and family, but it was so amazing to have friends visit and share in this amazing time with me. Thank you guys again for spoiling myself and baby C! We had the works at this party, chocolate fountain, penis cookies, oreo balls, cake, queso, friends, amazing punch, and even diaper smelling games!! LOL. It was a great time and I was sad when it ended.

38 weeks

So, I have been slacking I realize. Trying to get things finalized up in here has been keeping me busy! I went today for my second to last doctor's appointment. He said the baby looks to be right on track size wise. He also said my cervix is still only a finger tip dialated, but that it is starting to thin. He mentioned "thinning is a good thing", I'm thinking obviously. :) I am hoping next week that bigger and better things have happened!! Everything else is right on track. But, it sure seems like time is going backwards these days....

At the gym last night, a nice gentleman was next to me on the machine, and as soon as I stopped, he stopped, and the first thing he exclaimed was "Whew, that is impressive!". He proceeded to ask me how far along I was and continued to mention that I was "doing really well". He kept mentioning his daughter and her babies and discussing weight gain, it sure was nice to get the compliments from a random stranger, especially since they are different from the usual "Are you sure you don't have triplets in there?" smart alec remarks from randoms. What a nice change!

I spent last weekend working but also working on cleaning house and de-hairing Harvey (my car) since soon there will be a baby riding in there as well as Pearl. I bought tons of tax free diapers on tax free weekend and I also finished buying stuff off of my Target registry. We are sure getting close to having everything we could possibly need!

This weekend I plan to finish my cleaning, run errands and get a pedicure. Sounds delightful, doesn't it? Now I will leave you with a 38 week picture. I still need to get my last baby shower post up...but my pictures are all over the place since getting a new computer!!

How far along? 38 weeks

Maternity clothes?: Yup, and they are starting to get small. I was in denial when buying the Large maternity shirts, yet now I need XL!

Sleep: Horrible. I woke up last night, not because I had to pee, not because baby was kicking, not because of heartburn, not because of the dog, but because I was HOT. Ew.

Cravings: I could go for some Mexican food...

Best moment this week: The doctor telling me I was starting to progress. Finally!

Movement: Yes.

Gender: Miniature husband.

Labor Signs: None that I can tell. Not even any Braxton Hicks. Haven't dropped, haven't swollen yet, nothing.

Belly Button in or out? Shallow, still some of it is in, but the top is pointing out so people tend to think my thermometer is pointing to 'done'.

What I miss: Laying on my belly. Having room to cuddle on the couch.

Weekly Wisdom: Nothing really. Keep drinking water. Keep exercising. Down to less than two weeks!

Milestones: Cervix is thinning...lets get 'er done.

Favorite Moments: Counting down my last few work days. It is getting awfully hard.

When did you find out you were pregnant? January 3rd or so?? It was definitely after the New Year

What was your reaction? It was kinda what I had figured. I had put off taking the whole test thing, even though I was verrrrry late.

Who did you tell first about the pregnancy? Chris

Due Date? 8/25/10

Was the pregnancy planned? If it happened, it happened. So in other words, yes.

How did your parents react? They were both very shocked when I showed them the ultrasound picture, and very excited!

How did your partner's parents react? They were surprised as well, I don't think they were expecting that from us, as my husbands' brother had just made their announcement a few weeks prior.

Did you go to the doctor yet? Yes multiple times, I am nearing the end stages with weekly appointments!

Did you have your first ultrasound? Yes, we have had two. The initial one, and the 20 week one to determine gender and baby size. He was right on track at that point, actually a day early or so.

Do you know the sex? Boy!!!

How is the baby's movement? All the time. Starting to get up into my ribs, having to stretch out during the day to move his feet around.

How is the baby's heartbeat? Strong and steady, last time was at 144 bpm

Who do you think the baby will look like? I am hoping he has blue eyes, and I will just be grateful if he grows hair at some point! :)

Mom-to-be's favorite foods? I am loving sweet fruits. Nectarines, apples, pineapples.

Mom-to-be's latest cravings? The latest was cream cheese on a hot dog.

Mom-to-be's latest "mom" moment? Nothing that just sticks out.

What was the first change you noticed in your body? I was SO tired, and the ladies were so so sore.

What was the latest change in your body? My belly that acts like a shelf now, and the wicked heartburn.

What is your sleep schedule? I do what I can, wake up 2-3 times a night to pee or with heartburn. I try to get 8 hours or so, but it isn't as restful as it used to be.

What is your work schedule? 645-315 or until I am finished with my work for the day, 5 days a week but I do work every third weekend.

What is the last thing you bought for the baby? Diapers and a crib rail cover.

What was the last thing you bought for yourself? Nursing bras! So excited, they are waaaaay comfy.

Planned birth place? St Francis South

Are you scared? Are you going to use drugs? I'm not scared, just ready to meet him. And make no misconceptions that I think I can handle all the pain of labor, I am planning to use drugs.

How do you think you will react? I think I will be so happy and so relieved to have it all over.

How do you think your partner will react? I think he will be a little anxious at first but will fall in love.

Have you started birthing classes? Nope.

What is the nursery theme? Animal theme with race cars thrown in the mix. Very boyish, and loving it!

Are you going to breastfeed? Yes. As long as I can make it work once I return back to work.
