Bathtime has become one of Camden's favorite times of the evening. Even if he is fussing, once we sit him in the tub he quiets right down, immediately reaching for toys and splashing in the water. These pictures below show him discovering the faucet. He kept trying to grab the water as it was coming out, he probably would have kept at it all night if I had let him!
{...aaaaand miffed. Why can't I get that to go in my mouth?}

Camden: 7 month stats
We went to the pediatrician for our six month shots at seven months and almost a week. We were a little off on the timing, but that's what happens when you are sick.
Here are our stats:
Height: 27 inches (50th percentile)
Weight: 17.6 and a half ounces (almost 50th percentile)
Head: 43cm (25th percentile)
All was looking well despite some extra snot in our nose, so we went ahead an got our shots. Camden took them like a champ. As soon as he had the squeaky frog toy and was sitting back upright the crying stopped. The tears still lingered though. :(
I can't believe how fast he is growing every day, my sweet boy is getting bigger and bigger!

Visit to see Granddaddy
A few weeks ago my Mom, Sister, Camden and I took some time to drive to OKC for a quick daytrip to visit my Granddaddy. He was so excited to see us and was all dressed up when we arrived and waiting near the front. He was a chipper as ever and was full of smiles and stories. When we arrived, he has us take him to his room to see his world map and wanted help marking places on the map he had visited. Afterwards we headed down to the lounge area so we could spread out and talked and caught up.
His handwriting hasn't been the same since his stroke, but you can clearly see the date marked with our names! I thought this was so cute, it really showed how excited he was that we were coming to visit!
After some chatting, we sat in an exercise class with him.
Camden and I even joined in on the exercises!
{four generations!}
we let Camden wake up Granddaddy after his quick little lunch nap and digestion period. But not before each of has had a picture with Mr. Sleepyhead. :)
I love this shot, Camden is just so relaxed with his arm behind his head!
Aren't they just so cute?
All in all, it was a great visit. We enjoyed getting to catch up, exercise and just hang out. Can't wait to do it again!

Seven Months: A Letter
Well Mister, you are now officially closer to a year than a newborn! ::Cue crying noises from Mommy:: Where does the time go? It feels like sand slipping through my fingers, are I can barely keep the sand from sliding through. In an effort to remember those little tiny grains of sand, it is time for yet another letter.
This month you have changed so much! You perfected sitting up while Mommy was out of town on February 26 and 27 at 6 months and 4 days. Daddy told me you had it mastered and I couldn't believe my ears. He video taped it to show me as proof!
You have tried a wide variety of fruits and veggies this month and have added peaches, mangoes, blueberries, strawberries, butternut squash, prunes/plums, watermelon, asparagus and chicken to your arsenal. We are enjoying mixing different flavors for your meals. You make the cutest sour face when we give you berries or something thicker in texture. You started eating three meals a day. At about 6 and a half months you started wigging out at daycare because you saw another little boy eating his breakfast and you had none. Needless to say, it was time for another meal for you! You drink significantly less milk now that you have solids, making sure you drink enough is a concern. You did go through a bit of trouble pooping because of your lack of liquids through your system. We gave you prune juice and plum and apple combinations and finally we had success! Since then we cut back a little on the amount of solids to be sure you are drinking enough! You drink on average 4-5 bottles of Mommy milk a day and nurse, ranging from 3-6 ounces each time. You really don't have a set routine but you are really good at just going with the flow.
You are loving going on walks and getting outside in the fresh air. We try to take your sister out for frequent walks and Mom is estatic that the grass is greening and the air is warming. Bring on springtime and the great outdoors!
You are moving up a size again in clothing. Won't you just slow down? Mommy and Daddy dressed you one morning for daycare in size six month pants. When Mommy went to pick you up, you were pantless. When she asked why it was because they couldn't put you back in those pants with just one person. Somehow Mom and Dad managed to wedge you in there and to get you back in them it was going to take an act of God! Needless to say, you are wearing 6-9 month pants or 9 month pants that are big, and your onesies are anywhere from 6 months and up. You are growing a nice round belly, so some things are a little tighter than others.
You are wearing a size three diaper.
You are getting on hands and knees and rocking back and forth. You will even get on your hands and push up into a bridge position on your hands and feet. You are so strong, yet you just haven't found the muscle coordination to crawl. Thank goodness. :)
Sleep is so so so different now that you are eating solids. You are MUCH better at sleeping through the night, and about a week after your six month mark you decided you needed to start putting yourself to bed an hour earlier, meaning you were usually down by 8 or so! You sleep fairly soundly, occasionally waking up and needing your paci to return back to sleep, but Mommy swears you sleep better without it. We usually wake you about 530 for the day, and you are still taking about an hour and a half to two hours worth of naptime during the day. You are such a good baby though, even if you are sleep deprived you are still incredibly happy.
Still no teeth. You woke up at daycare one day crying and screaming and they asked for permission to give you Tylenol. They said they couldn't figure out why you woke upset, that is so out of character for you! So who knows, maybe it was teeth, or just a bad day. Only time will tell!
You have perfected a fake cough when you want attention. You will be sitting and playing and then when you see Mom or Dad walk by you give this little half-hearted cough or three so we will pay attention to you. So funny!
You have had a few new firsts this month. We took you to your first (of many!) Home and Garden Show where you were quite content to kick your feet and watch the crowd. You also had your first time to sit upright like a big boy while Mommy and Daddy rode bikes. You sit up on your own and bathe sitting up. You are growing, changing and morphing into a little boy before my eyes! I can't believe how quickly time passes and I am savoring every moment with you, smothering you in little kisses.
Love you always,
Mommy

Remember this?
Unfortunately, I do. This is at work. See the handrail? The steps up this hill are buried under the fourteen some odd inches of snow. Thank goodness this is over, for the most part.
Bring on SPRING!!!

Saturday Scene
Saturday Scene...
On Sunday. Hey, better late than never, right??
I worked yesterday so it was a busy day. After work we loaded up baby and went to the Home and Garden show in an attempt to idea shop for summer projects. I write that like I was idea shopping, in all reality Hubby and his dad were doing the 'shopping' if you will. This year the fun exhibit inside was a little garden area made out of balloons. Camden enjoyed the balloons and I thought the little garden gnome made out of balloons was cute, so we stopped and posed for a picture. Camden was well behaved despite not getting a nap. He just people watched and constantly kicked his little feet. I was impressed. He must take after Dad, just gotta have something to do!
Afterwards, we went to dinner at Olive Garden, where I managed to eat my weight in salad. It is SO good there! Camden started to get a little fussy, but he hadn't eaten in about five hours so I couldn't blame him! We fed him while we ate and then it was time for home and bed, time to get ready to 'spring forward'!
And that was Saturday, in a nutshell!

I know you are growing up fast, but time for school already??
{This is how Camden feels about school :)}
Yesterday Camden and I went to visit my sister at work. She teaches 3rd grade Special Education. Camden and I arrived early and he finished up his nap while I snapped the above picture.
Once the kids arrived, we did introductions and then I read a book to the class while Camden sat in the group with Aunt Marcie and listened. We read Take Me to the Zoo and Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. The kids, including Camden, were good listeners.
For the most part the kids just LOVED him. They would shake his hand and talk to the baby, it was just adorable. It is something that you have to see on video to get the full effect! (too bad we don't have video) Camden was well behaved, checked everyone out and was a good listener when there was Show and Tell, I think he really enjoyed T's Tickle Me Elmo. I told Camden if he was a good boy he might get one in the near future. :)
Marcie got to show him off to everyone she worked with and I really think he would have enjoyed staying up there with the kids all day long!
It was a nice little field trip on Mommy's day off. Monday is my other day off and we are planning on going to OKC to visit Grandaddy so that should be another interesting trip!!

Friday Favorite...
If there is one thing I have really enjoyed about parenthood, it has been experiencing it with this man! I have loved watching his role change into "Daddy" before my very eyes. I am so blessed to have him!

Busy Bee
Husband and I have been busy bees lately. We have done some deep cleaning on the house, really really scrubbed some places. I'm making baby food like a mad woman to keep up with little man's appetite. (Okay, okay, maybe I've gone a little nuts there is PLENTY in the freezer but I like having options to choose from!) We have planted part of our garden, we shall see how that goes. This year we planted potatoes, carrots, and some fruits like strawberries and blueberries. I am so excited to see how it turns out, and excited that we will have fresh things for little man!
This past weekend we went to a friend's gender reveal party. SUCH a cute idea. It was lots of fun!! We are so excited for her and her husband, they are expecting a sweet baby girl, exactly what they had prayed for.
With work and baby, somedays I get home from work and it is non-stop on my feet until we get Camden off to bed. I won't lie, I miss the days of just going to the gym and coming home and vegging on the couch to my favorite show. I have had to quit lots of shows, but I love my son more!
In other news...
We paid off our car. Yay! We had a five year loan that we financed and we paid it off in less than two years. Not bad, not bad. I am so relieved to not have to worry about that payment and can instead save up for Camden's college and pay on the house. Woot!
I have been practicing my photography skills. I think I am starting to get the hang of it! I am really enjoying it and I wish I had even more time to pursue this hobby, but for now I will take what I can get. My pictures are more in focus the way I want, so that's getting somewhere! I am hoping to find Photoshop Elements on sale for cheap somewhere so I can also have some fun editing software. Camden is lots of fun to take pictures of, I can't help myself! Gosh he's cute.
And on that note, time for bed.

Leaving On A Jet Plane..
No, not me.
But a bestie.
And this past weekend the girls and I went down to Texas for a last hurrah to hang out and enjoy each other's company.
So much has changed since we met almost ten years ago...(ten years? Is that even POSSIBLE??)
And it was so much fun hanging out. It's really like we picked up where we left off. So much has changed, marriage, babies, living situations, jobs, even hair color. But it's like we were never apart from each other.
We had an amazing time shopping, talking, eating, pedicures and of course a few drinks here and there.
It was so nice enjoying all of these restaurants that we don't have here in Oklahoma. That is always a plus, and we got to have a pazookie which is this amazingly warm cookie served with ice cream on top. Of course we had our fair share of gluten free - but honestly that stuff is JUST as good.
And the pedicures in Texas? They are DEFINITELY doing something right. Two words for you, hot stones. Yes, hot stones. They know how it's done because that was ahhhhmazing.
The best part though? Catching up with the girls.
And the Lotties. :)
